Welcome to ourfactorGame Review ofDark Souls II. We review the game and then factor in how the available affect the overall game experience. For better or worse, our reviews will help you decide whether or not to use when playing the game.
If games were a fraternity,Dark Souls IIwould be it's hazing ritual. Namco Bandai and From Software's much anticipated sequel is going to shame you with horrific dths that you should have seen coming but somehow didn't. It's punishing difficulty spikes and insanely challenging boss battles will make you question just how much you rlly want to dedie to finishing the game - but plse, do finish. Dark Souls 2 may be one of the most difficult games you'll play but it's also one of the most satisfying. Finishing ch tough quest will feel like a major victory and you'll want to keep pressing on now matter how many times you die.Dark Souls IIis miles ahd of both of it's predecessors and a game that not everyone will love, but everyone should experience.
"Dark Souls II refuses to hold your hand..."
Much of the structure ofDark Souls IIis carried over from Demon Souls and the original Dark Souls. If you were worried that more exposure would pressure From Software and Namco Bandai to make you a more accessible title, worry no more -Dark Souls IIis full of the same sadistic pacing, fragile characters and c traps that made the other games such a pain to lovingly endure.Dark Souls IIrefuses to hold your hand the way most mainstrm games do, and save for a bit of explanation towards the beginning of the game, pushes you into the deep end of the pool without warning, expecting you to fend for yourself. The result is a game about exploration, failure and ultimately a rewarding feeling like no other in gaming.
"...but just remember, you're doing so at your own peril."
Though there's a definite path thatDark Souls IIpoints you down, you're free to explore the world at your own pace, but just remember, you're doing so at your own peril. There were quite a few times that I wandered into situations that my lower level character was nowhere nr rdy for but that's a major part of the trial and error style gameplay that makesDark Souls IIso invigorating. There are also multiple ways to handle ch encounter and path, mainly dependent on your chosen class; your level and what gr you've collected.
