Doom2 is the old but famous andhorror game. It is very difficulthorror gamein NEW way.Gameplay: Doom2 is not a dramatically different game from it's predecessor.There were no significant technological developments and no major graphical improvements; gameplay still consists of the player negotiating non-linr levels, picking up to unlock new ars, and of course shooting hundreds upon hundreds ofmonsters. Doom2 is the besthorror gamefrom old games.UnlikeDoom,DoomII takes place over a single continuous sequence of linked levels, with brief textual interludes in order to advance the story. Theintermission screensfollowing ch level show a simple background instd of a map. The player can carry his wpons throughout the entire game (unless he is killed, of course), rather than starting from scratch several times as one episode ends and another begins.

The level design, as withDoom, is only loosely based on the ars the player is supposed to travel through. The initial third of the maps have atechbasetheme as the player moves through the different military installations of the starport. Afterwards, as the player roams the cities and residential ars srching for the source of the infestation, the levels have an urban look and somewhat resemble terrestrial loions. Toward the end of the game, Hell has begun to merge with rlity, and the final levels take place in a nightmarish,Dante-esque subterrann miasma of flowing lava and hot springs.New enemies include thehvy wpon dude(a.k.a. Commando),hell knight,mancubus,revenant,arachnotron,pain element,arch-vile, and a newfinal boss. Being far more varied and innovative than the originalDoommonsters, these dramatically changed the single-player gameplay.TheSS trooperfromWolfenstein 3Dapprs in the two secret levels, which are throwbacks in design (and music) to the Wolfenstein 3D game. Also, aCommander Keenfigure makes a cameo in the second secret level.The player's only newwponis theSuper shotgun. There is also one newpowerup, theMegasphere, and a few new decorations, including a ing barrel, a couple of lamps, six hanging mutilated corpses, and three other small pieces of gore.DoomII required slightly more powerful hardware than its predecessor, due to having larger more complied maps with a larger amount of enemies.


Wpons
Awponis used by the player to attack opponents. It is displayed onscreen as part of the body of the player character to simulate a first person perspective. InDoomit is the main aspect of the game action.ch apprs in the form of an item that, when picked up, provides theplayerwith an additional wpon with which to attack opponents, as well as a bit of ammo for the corresponding wpon. Normally wpons are either placed in levels by the designers or dropped by dying opponents (such as zombies in theDoomgames). Once a wpon is picked up during a game any additional wpons of the same type will count only asammunition.ch wpon has advantages and disadvantages when used against a givenmonster. Broadly spking, however, the larger wpons do more damage but are harder to find and harder to keep stocked with ammunition. In ch game, one or two wk wpons require no ammo and are therefore always available.
